Being Made Whole

Being Made Whole is the name of our ministry but it is also a name that is given to God’s process of sanctification for saved, born-again people in order for them to live their lives to the utmost.
When we become saved that is wonderful but what about the period of time in which we live until He calls us home? Are we to just simply exist and live under our circumstances and never enjoy a taste of heaven on earth?

Have any of these thoughts crossed your mind?

Does God enjoy seeing us trapped in the cares of this life?
Is He just waiting for us to step out of line and sin and then send some tragedy our way because we have sinned? Is that why He sent His Son to save us?
Are we saved from these cares of this life or does He have different plans for us as His saved, born-again kids?

What are His plans for us after we become saved and born-again?
Have you ever wondered why you experience pain and frustration as a Child of God? Many times when God is speaking to us and trying to get our attention is when we experience pain and frustration; this can be God’s megaphone. He only wants to get our attention because He truly loves us and He wants us to face up to a deficient area in our life and deal with it for our own good.

How can I do any more Christian work when I am absolutely out of time with my responsibilities now? We can be trapped in seemingly “good” deeds and be on a treadmill with no end in sight. We think that one day we will reach some goal of self-satisfaction in our striving and in our performing and all the while never realizing that God does not intend for us to be living in all this stress and anxiety and fear, yes, even in our churches where we are practicing Christianity.

What about our outlook for the future? Do we face each day with a cynical attitude with a Murphy’s Law mentality?
Have we been disappointed and disillusioned by Christian pastors and leaders? Is this what the Christian life is all about?

Have we been told by our parents that we were saved and baptized when we were little children or were “Christened” in some place and time that is long since left our memory or was never there to begin with because we were entirely too young to remember? Certainly, we made no decision of our own to become saved or born-again during this early event of our lives.

Have we been told that we are “Catholic” or “Baptist” or “Whatever” and we were “of that particular faith? Are there different faiths? My Bible only speaks of one faith! It all boils down to whether or not we believe that Jesus was the Son of God or He wasn’t. This is the most important decision we will ever make. There is no doctrine of man that can ever be as important as this decision.

Do we even know what we believe?
Do we have any convictions regarding the life and death and resurrection of Jesus?
Are we convinced that He is the Word incarnate?

Have we become confused by all the divisions among the Christians?
Do we hear debates and discussions among Christian brothers and even the ones who insist that planet earth is only 6000 years old when there is scientific evidence that proves otherwise? Do we feel guilty when we sort of half-heartedly support this concept because it just seems like the right thing to do because to believe otherwise, we are told, would be to be in support of the evolutionists and not in support of the Bible?
Where in the Bible does it say that planet earth is a certain age?

How can these and other questions be answered? All of these questions can be answered from the Bible, God’s Word.

If you have ever wondered what God has to say about being in health apart from medication and nutrition and all kinds of allopathic and alternative remedies, please hear what we have to say. God very much wants us to BE MADE WHOLE. He tells us in His Word. He does not want us to become sick in the first place.

1 Thes. 5:23 (KJV)
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We can see that we have different parts of our being, spirit, soul and body.
God has created us as a tripartite being. We are a spirit, we have a soul and we live in our physical body. Paul is saying that he is praying that all of us, spirit, soul and body, be preserved blameless and be sanctified.

What does sanctification mean?
SANCTIFIED: Greek: hagiasmos(GSN-38), consecration; a separation unto God FROM a profane, secular, and carnal use TO a sacred, religious, and spiritual use.

A study of the various passages shows that to sanctify means to set apart from other uses to God's particular use, not to cleanse from sin or rid of carnal nature (sometimes called "the old man" or Adamic nature). Even Christ, the Sinless One, was sanctified
John 17:19
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
Where humans are concerned one begins to be sanctified when he begins to consecrate his life to God, and the process is continued as he continues in his dedication to the Lord.
Cor. 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
1 Cor. 6:11
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Paul is saying that he prays that we will be made whole.
Whole: holokleros, Greek 3648, Strong’s from Greek 3650 (holos) and Greek 2819 (kleros); complete in every part, i.e. perfectly sound (in body) :- entire, whole.

In the Old Testament, The same people were sanctified many times so sanctification cannot be limited to one act…it was THEN and is NOW an on-going process…

Exodus19:14 (KJV)
And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
Exodus 19:22 (KJV)
And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.
Exodus 28:41 (KJV)
And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.
Exodus 29:33 (KJV)
And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy.
Things as well as people can be sanctified.
Exodus 29:44 (KJV)
And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest's office.
Exodus 30:29 (KJV)
And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.
Leviticus 8:30 (KJV)
And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons' garments with him; and sanctified Aaron, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

In the New Testament
The disciples were sanctified as was Jesus.
John 15:3 (KJV)
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

John 17:17-19 (KJV)
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

As we learn the Truth, the Truth makes us free….it is not a light switch concept that happens at our born-again experience and forever keeps us from ever sinning again once we become saved.

John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

However, if sin and filth are involved in a person or a material thing to be set apart unto God, then the sin and the filth must be dealt with and removed in order to make it presentable to God. The closer we get to God, the more sin and filth we realize is in our lives and we are faced with the choice of keeping it or removing it.
Man has as much to do with sanctification as God, for he is the one who decides to sanctify himself to God. Man and God work together in the setting apart process.
God has given us a choice with our lives; to become sanctified and grow in His Word and Truth or wallow around in our selfish, childish ways. To continually want to be fed milk or feeding on the meat from His Word and sharing Truth with others in our everyday lives.

In the passage in 1st Thessalonians, Paul is praying that our entire spirit, soul and body be sanctified…with the help of God…and that we are preserved blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus.
What he is saying is that this process must first begin in our spirits. As we begin to pray in the spirit God reveals to us areas in our lives that are in need of sanctification.

When we realize these areas where the breach has occurred, we need to sanctify that area of our life. How do we do this? We must come to repentance with God and man, if need be, and ask for forgiveness for this area of our lives where the sin exists that is keeping us from experiencing the fullness of our relationship with Father God.
This involves a process and does not happen all at once at salvation. Salvation is just the beginning of our sanctification process.

In the ministry of Being Made Whole, what is so interesting is that as a person’s spirit is sanctified first then his soul and/or body receives sanctification and what can be manifested as a healing of the mind or emotion as well as physical healings in approximately 80% of chronic illnesses of the body.

This healing process happens as a person is taught God’s Word regarding His will for our health and well being. When we discover that we are living in disagreement with His Word in certain areas and we can correct the disagreement then we can receive the healing that He desires for our lives…or better yet, we can never get sick in the first place.

This same message was not only in Thessalonians but also in 2nd Corinthians 7:1
2 Cor. 7:1
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
What’s happening here? He’s saying that there is some cleansing that needs to be done and it will involve our spirit as well as our flesh.

How can our spirits get dirty?

We have gates….our eyes…our ears….what we speak…what comes out of our mouths…where evil spirits can come in…we can entertain these spirits…..We need to be on guard for their entry into our spirits. Simply, don’t invite them in and open the door. Realize that we do have a choice in the matter.
There can be spirits of lust, un-forgiveness, envy and jealousy, bitterness, accusation, fear and the list goes on where these spirits can enter us as we willingly open the door.
As this door opens these spirits can cause us much grief and distress unless we are able to recognize them and send them away.
Our goal is to recognize them before they can establish a foot-hold in our life. We simply send them away. Can we do this? Yes, we can do this. God has given us this authority and as believers, we should be enjoying this lifestyle in our Christian walk. Anything less is living under the influence of our enemy, Satan and his henchmen.

Where do we begin this process? By cultivating our relationship with our Maker and Creator, Father God; spending time in prayer and repentance. Each time that we repent of areas in our lives where the Enemy has come in, we enrich our relationship with the Father and remove any breach that might have occurred…not on His part but it is always on our part. Sin has already been judged and this sin has to be removed from our life if we are going to go any further in our relationship with Father.

This can be a most exciting journey; realizing that we will never completely arrive but will remain on this pathway of sanctification as long as we are here on planet earth. This pathway is our testing ground or proving ground as Father God does His work of refining us. It is a daily, sometimes hourly, process of communication with the Father with an attitude of repentance.

In this life, you can be certain that we will sin and our spirits will be grieved because of sin, however, our Father will be quick to forgive us and get us back on the right pathway if true repentance follows. It is this process that will make us fit for His kingdom and will determine our role in ruling with Christ in the new earth.

More and more, we learn to hear His voice and learn to repent quickly. This is called spiritual growth and maturity. It is also called obedience; obedience to His Word. Our ways are not His ways and He does not change His ways.

We must change our ways.

Blessings,

Charles
